This project aims to strengthen transparency and accountability in the security sector by improving the implementation of data secrecy standards and supporting greater civil society involvement. Its objectives are:

1. Enhance participation of the civil society in implementation of transparency and data secrecy standards in the security sector
2. Support relevant public institutions to improve implementation of transparency standards in the security sector

To achieve these goals, the project will first conduct an in-depth analysis of the existing legal framework and current practice of implementing data secrecy standards across key security institutions. The results of the research will be publicly presented at an awareness-raising event aimed at policymakers, civil society and media. Following this, the project will develop targeted policy materials to assist decision-makers in improving both the legal framework and its practical application.

By combining research, public outreach, and policy advocacy, this six-month initiative will reinforce ongoing civil society efforts to enhance transparency in the security sector and strengthen oversight mechanisms.
