PUBLIC SECRETS – MOVING TOWARDS DEMOCRATIC CONTROL OF DATA SECRECY IN SERBIA

The overall goal of the Project is to promote Integrity, transparency and responsibility, as well as to decrease the risk of corruption within the work of institution, by improving the implementation of relevant legislation in the field of access to information of public importance and data secrecy.
The Project contributes to:
- Recognizing challenges in exercising and protecting the right to access to information of public importance in cases when legislation on data secrecy is being implemented
- Strengthening the division of power and the development of democratic institutions and practices, by improving parliamentary and independent control mechanisms for the implementation of the Data Secrecy Law
- Strengthening the civil sector and the media to monitor the work of public institutions in the context of the implementation of regulation regarding data secrecy
The project is will be implemented for 8 months and consists of two components – the research component and the public advocacy component.
