The goal of the advocacy initiative is to contribute to a better protection of privacy rights of the marginalized-vulnerable groups in the online sphere, through supporting the strategic policy development in the area of protection of online privacy rights of marginalized-vulnerable groups and raising public awareness on privacy concerns of marginalized-vulnerable groups.
Partners Serbia will monitor the process of development of the new Strategy on Personal Data Protection and advocate for the Strategy to address processing and protection of personal data online, as well as management of COVID health data of the population of Serbia, having in mind the current pandemic, especially with regards to the protection of vulnerable groups (children, women, LGBTQ+ persons and other marginalized groups). In addition, through public events and outreach activities, Partners Serbia will inform the general public of main privacy concerns of marginalized-vulnerable groups and effects of privacy violations on other rights and freedoms of individuals.
Initiative for the Protection of Online Privacy of Marginalized Groups is implemented with support by the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) under its regional Internet Freedom Program, which aims to build the capacity of local CSOs, expand networks, and support local initiatives in the region to combat laws that restrict Internet Freedom.
