In the period from September 2018 to February 2019, Partners Serbia organized 4 round tables on the topic “Mediation and Advocacy – the Role of Attorneys in Mediation”. Events were attended by over 80 attorneys and trainees from the bar associations of Vojvodina and Kragujevac.

Ana Toskic, Executive Director of Partner Serbia, presented participants with the basic principles and legal framework for the use of mediation in Serbia. Tanja Dugonjic, an attorney and mediator from Novi Sad, and Srdjan Gligoric, an attorney and mediator from Becej, spoke about the role of attorneys in mediation and the impact of mediation on law practice.

These round tables panels are part of the Bar Association Mediation Project, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Serbia. The overall objective of the Project is to strengthen access to justice by raising the capacity of attorneys to use mediation in dispute resolution.
