The Second Annual Conference of the Network of Inspectors of Serbia was held in Cacak, in premises of Dom kulture Cacak on 25 April 2019. The Conference was attended by over 700 inspectors, of all levels, from all parts of Serbia.

Introductory remarks were given by Branko Ruzic, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government of the Republic of Serbia, Milun Todorovic, the Mayor of Cacak, Laura Pavlovic, director of Office of Democratic and Economic Growth at USAID Serbia, Jelena Cirkovic from EBRD Serbia and Dragoman Paunovic, the President of the NIS.

Following the introductory session, the session titled “Inspections in Reform” took place. During this session, Stevan Djurovic, the Acting Director of the Labor inspectorate, presented inspection results for 2018. During the third session titled “The Network of Inspectors of Serbia – the Initiator of Changes”, Dragoman Paunovic delivered a presentation of the work of NIS.

Following these two presentations, Dragan Pusara of the Coordination Commission was announced an honorary Member of NIS.

In the second part of the event, panel discussion “Friends and Partners of NIS” took place. The panel was moderated by Dragan Pusara, while the speakers were Dragana Stanojevic, Deputy Chief of Party, USAID CfG project, Violeta Jovanovic, Executive Director of NALED, Ana Toskic, Executive Director of Partners Serbia and Vidosava Djuric, President of the Board of NIS. The whole panel was dedicated to analyzing ways of helping the Association in their efforts to promote their work and make some changes in the position of the inspector in their work and in field of how citizens perceive them and their work.

Closing Remarks at the Conference were given by Mr. Paunovic.

The event was also attended by number of local and national media.

This activity was implemented within the project Strengthening Capacities of the Network of Inspectors of Serbia, that Partners Serbia is implementing in cooperation with the Network of Inspectors of Serbia (NIS), with the support of USAID Cooperation for Growth (CfG) Project.
