The main shortcomings of the Law on Personal Data Protection, the Law on Electronic Media, and the Law on Electronic Communications, as well as their alignment with international standards.
As part of the Greater Internet Freedom project, Partners Serbia has prepared analyses of three important laws in Serbia - the Law on Personal Data Protection, the Law on Electronic Media, and the Law on Electronic Communications.
Through the examination of regulations, we primarily analyzed the quality of these legal acts, as well as their suitability for addressing existing and future threats to digital rights and the privacy of Serbian citizens. The analyses include an assessment of the compatibility of domestic regulations with the relevant legislation of the European Union and the Council of Europe standards, key findings, as well as suggestions for improving the state of privacy in our country.
Considering the unsatisfactory state of personal data protection in our country, especially in the online sphere, we hope that these documents will contribute to better privacy protection and digital rights for the citizens of Serbia.
